Paul John Dowd

The Company’s Managing Director is Paul Dowd. Paul brings an impressive set of mining industry skills to Phoenix Copper, gleaned from his experiences within the industry that span four decades. He has been a non-executive Director at Buka Gold since 1 June 2006, President of Newmont Australia Investment Limited from 1 January 2005 until 30 April 2006, Director of Newmont Australia Holdings Pty Ltd from 1 January 2005 until 30 April 2006, Managing Director at Newmont Australia Limited from 1 January 2005 until 30 April 2006, Vice President of Australian and New Zealand Operations at Newmont Mining Corporation from 1 January 2005 until 30 April 2006. He has been tthe non-executive Chairman of Adelaide Resources Limited since 14 August 2006 and non-executive Director at Regis ResourcesNL since 31 July 2006.

He is currently Chairman of the Board of the SA Mineral Resources & Heavy Engineering Skills Centre, Chairman of the SA Resources Infrastructure Committee, Council Member of the PB Australia Pacific Advisory Board.

Paul is also a board member of the Sustainable Minerals Institute, the University of Queensland and the University of Nevada, Reno, where he helped develop a course in risk management and a member of the Mineral Resources Sector Advisory Council of the CSIRO.

Phoenix Copper is fortunate to have a Managing Director with Paul’s extensive industry experience and impressive credentials. His skills and knowledge will not only be important in initial exploration phases, but also in the successful transition from exploration to production, should exploration prove successful.
