The Company is extremely fortunate to have filled this vitally important position with such a highly qualified and motivated person. Mark’s most recent role was as the Regional Exploration Manager for Broken Hill-based company Perilya Limited where he oversaw a team of 52 people exploring for base and precious metals in New South Wales. This program had a $12million budget with Mark’s primary responsibility being to ensure that effective and efficient exploration was undertaken on Perilya Limited’s Projects.
Mark brings over 20 years of experience into his role at Phoenix Copper having held positions at WMC Resources, North Limited, Paragon Resources and Coolgardie Gold to name just a few. His career highlights include working with JBS Technologies and other Perilya staff pioneering the use of a handheld XRF as a geochemical sampling tool, discovering the Black Cat and Panther gold deposits at Coolgardie, taking the Nimingarra iron deposit to reserve status, bringing the old Potosi Extended and Flying Doctor discoveries to ore reserve status and the discovery of the Pinnacles gold deposit at the Comet mine near Cue in Western Australia.
Mark’s work has involved a range of commodities including tin, uranium, iron ore, oil and gas, nickel, lead, zinc, silver and of course, copper and gold which will be his primary targets at Phoenix.
