Graham George Spurling
Graham Spurling is the Chairman of Phoenix Copper. A decorated former Major in the Australian Army Reserve, Graham has a Bachelor of Technology and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Adelaide, a Masters in Automotive Engineering from the Chrysler Institute in Detroit (USA); he received the Melbourne Business School Award in 1995 for International Business and received the Centenary of Federation Medal Award for Service to Industry.
Most notably Graham spent seven years as Managing Director and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Australia in Adelaide before moving to the United States to become President and CEO of GNB Technologies in Atlanta then President and CEO of Pacific Dunlop Holdings (USA) Inc. Graham has been a non-executive Director of Dexion Limited (since February 2004) and Sun Energy Limited (since 14 February 2008) and Chairman of the Catholic Archdiocese of Adelaide Finance Council.
Graham’s experience in management and marketing, his knowledge of
a broad range of manufacturing and environmental management technologies
and his familiarity with the culture and business conduct of important overseas
markets, such as South East Asia, Japan and North America, will all be invaluable
to Phoenix Copper in its quest to become a powerful South Australian mining
company.
